Hundreds of Staples employees from all around the globe gathered in Boston to fill 20,000 backpacks with brand new school supplies for local children.
In under five hours, employees paired with Cradles to Crayons and children from Lawrence Public Schools and the local Boys and Girls Club to fill backpacks with back to school essentials like paper, folders, crayons, and scissors. Employees split into teams, and each employee had a role to fill, whether it was team leader, timekeeper, or quality assurance. Teams raced against one another to see who could package 1,111 backpacks in the shortest amount of time.
Due to the Staples employees' hard work, persistence, and dedication, 20,000 children in the Commonwealth will start the 2010 school year off on the right foot.
